Job & Internship Postings
HireUTexas, powered by Handshake, is the all-inclusive career management software connecting you with UT Austin students and alumni for internship and full-time, part-time, seasonal, and on-campus employment job postings, event listings, and on-campus interviews. Employer account and job posting approvals are based on our campus recruiting guidelines and procedures. Access HireUTexas to create your account and post your job or internship.
In addition to HireUTexas, many of our colleges and schools manage job posting platforms specifically for their students that offer employers an effective option for targeting specific majors or skill sets.
In line with the University’s Protect Texas Together initiative, during the 2020-2021 academic year Texas Career Engagement is able to facilitate virtual interviews only.
If you are seeking talent from across the university, job and internship postings with associated interview opportunities can be posted in HireUTexas.
How to request an interview in HireUTexas
Hosting virtual interviews
If you are planning to recruit from just one school or focus on one major, please connect with the career center of the school you are targeting. We can provide guidance on how to manage this effort and will help make connections and introductions. Note, some career centers maintain a 75/25 quota system for interviews within their spaces (i.e. no fewer than 75% of the students scheduled should be from the school where interviews are being conducted, and no more than 25% of students scheduled from outside of that school).
Work-Study & Student Employment
HireUTexas provides campus and off-campus employers access to students seeking part-time employment, including work-study employment. Employer account and job posting approvals are based on our campus recruiting guidelines and procedures.
To get started, post your job in HireUTexas.
For new on-campus employers, get started by contacting email@example.com to verify that your department or office has an existing HireUTexas employer account. If your office has an established account, we will forward you the details needed to access your employer account. If your office does not have an established account, we will send instructions on how to successfully create your account.
Off-Campus Work-Study Employers
Nonprofit employers in the Austin area may be eligible to hire work-study students for part-time opportunities. In addition to the great talent inherent in UT Austin students, nonprofit organizations benefit from the federally-funded partial subsidy of the student-employee’s wages. Contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to learn more about the Work-Study Program and the criteria for off-campus employers.
In line with the University’s Protect Texas Together initiative, during the 2020-2021 academic year Texas Career Engagement is able to facilitate virtual events only.
