Brian Jaklich, LCSW received his MSSW in Social Work from UT Austin in 1988. He is currently working as the Social Work Coordinator for the Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. Brian supervises a team of 24 school social workers and coordinates the Harlandale Care Center which is a counseling center for district students, families, staff and community members. Brian also serves as the district liaison with many district mental health and community partners.

Muna received a M.A. in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures from UT-Austin in 2014. She is currently working as a Program Officer at Solidarity Center, where she manages a portfolio of projects funded by USAID and State Dept in the Asia region totaling 16 million.

  • Muna Rehman, MA

Dr. Laura J. Cortez is from the Rio Grande Valley and came to Austin in 1999 as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from Drake University, and later went on to earn her MBA from St. Edward’s University and PhD in Higher Education from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2012, Laura served as a postdoctoral fellow at UT’s Community Engagement Center and led one of Austin’s most comprehensive public engagement projects known as the Colony Park Sustainable Community Initiative. Laura credits this experience with changing her professional trajectory and after completing the project she launched her own public engagement firm, Cortez Consulting.

Daniela Hernandez Salazar received her Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and Master of Global Policy Studies from UT-Austin in 2018. She is currently working as an Evaluation Consultant at the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services, where she conducts evaluations to assess the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of UN Secretariat programs in relation to their objectives and mandates.

  • Daniela Hernandez Salazar, MA, MPGS

Benita Bamgbade received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from UT-Austin in 2017. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University in the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences, where she researches psychiatric multimorbidity and its influence on the health and medication-taking behaviors of adults.
