Join Texas Career Engagement for some exciting virtual opportunities this fall, designed to help you visualize your goals, explore various career paths, and connect virtually with other students around career related topics. The opportunities listed below are open to all undergraduate students and alumni who have graduated within one year of event date.

Texas Career Engagement also offers specialized workshops for graduate students. Additional opportunities are available through schools and colleges.

Creative Strategies to Envision and Achieve Career Goals
Tuesday, September 22
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Infuse creative strategies into your career planning process. This interactive workshop will engage you in several activities to help provide engaging ways to approach career planning, set a few long and short-term goals and leave the with some concrete strategies, handouts and a couple of personalized next steps to achieve your goals.

Grad School Panel – What I Wish I Had Known & Other Considerations

Join Texas Career Engagement to hear from graduate students about what they wish they had known before entering graduate school.

Gaining Knowledge and Connections through Informational Interviewing
Thursday, October 22
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Informational interviewing is a highly useful way to gather information about different careers and employers, build your network and develop professional confidence. However, if you have never conducted an informational interview it can be hard to know where to start. In this workshop, learn how to identify informational interview contacts, reach out to those professionals, prepare for and conduct the conversation and follow up.

My First-Gen Career Story
Tuesday, November 10
12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

In this interactive panel discussion, you will hear from graduates about the unique challenges and successes they experienced on their academic and career paths as first-generation students at UT. Join us to identify strategies to build confidence, navigate the career decision-making process, and develop a sense of community.

Building Career Confidence Through Mindfulness
Tuesdays, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (Sept. 15 – Nov. 17)

Navigating career decisions during these challenging times can be difficult. Whether you’ve recently launched a job or internship search, or just feel uncertain about next steps in your career development, join us! Through this weekly discussion-based group, we hope to create an open and inclusive space for students to share their experiences, find community and receive support. We will also offer opportunities to practice basic mindfulness techniques and discuss strategies to develop confidence, resilience, and optimism during these uncertain times.
