Texas Career Engagement’s Career Communities program presents a new conversational series called Quality Career Connections! This casual setting allows you to connect, ask questions and learn from alumni and employers in the creative, health and wellness, and business and entrepreneurship industries. All majors welcome.

About the Career Communities
Do you have career interests and goals that may not directly align with your major or academic focus? Career Communities provide industry-specific resources, opportunities and connections for all students, regardless of academic focus. Explore any of our eight communities in a wide variety of fields.


Career Exploration Grant

The W. Sue Ragle Career Exploration Grant is currently accepting Spring 2024 applications for awards up to $1,000. These grants support first or second-year students who have engaged with career exploration services at The University of Texas at Austin to develop their academic plans. If you are unsure of your major or career path, this scholarship may provide useful funding to explore your options. Apply by November 3!


Get Career-Ready with Coursera

Looking to add specific career skills to your resume? Earn a certificate in the career field of your interest with Coursera! The UT Coursera Program provides Longhorns with free access to online learning and professional certificate programs. Undergraduates can explore options in Coursera’s Career Academy or Top Tech catalogs.

Career Academy offers a variety of certificates and courses covering nearly 30 job roles. Certificates are designed by leading companies such as Google, IBM, Intuit, Meta, PwC and Salesforce.

Top Tech offers a curation of the top technology tools used in the current job market, along with topics related to technology fields such as AI, IoT and data visualization.


Essential Skills Immersion Series: Curiosity

This event series aims to help students gain the most in-demand skills for today’s job market and the future of work. This semester’s skills series week focuses on curiosity.

Join us to learn how to leverage curiosity in strategic and design thinking, hone curiosity as a skill, and articulate curiosity as a competitive competency for internship and career goals.
