Struggling to decide on a major or career? Register to join our weekly career counseling group to get support, clarity and confidence while selecting your career path. Open to all undergraduate students who want to develop self-awareness, find community and start their unique career journey!

Interested in other ways to explore career options? 

  • Explore careers and majors in UGS 107D: Every spring and fall semester, Texas Career Engagement (TCE) offers UGS 107D: Exploring Careers and Majors to help students connect their personal interests and skills with academic programs at The University of Texas at Austin. 
  • Take a career assessment: Schedule a career counseling or coaching appointment with the TCE Career Education team to learn more about the available career assessments and to start the process. 
  • Join a Career Community: Through special events, newsletters and toolkits, the Career Communities provide industry-specific resources, opportunities and connections for all students, regardless of academic focus. 

Essential Skills Immersion Series: Artificial Intelligence

This event series aims to help students gain the most in-demand skills for today’s job market and the future of work. This semester’s skills series week focuses on artificial Intelligence.

Join us for a comprehensive series on the development, utilization and ethical considerations of AI. Learn to position yourself for future roles that either work directly with AI or leverage its potent capabilities.

Image-based AI at Work
Tuesday, February 6, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
This session will focus on understanding the capabilities of common image-based generative-AI models. Learn how they are utilized in creative fields and strategies for evaluating the ethics of using these models.

AI and Ethics
Thursday, February 8, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a session on understanding of the importance of ethical AI development, including strategies for addressing ethical challenges in the development and use of AI systems as AI transforms the future of work.

It’s a new year, and what better way to start your semester than by making strides towards your career goals? As employers continue focusing on skills-based hiring, one way you can strengthen your resume is by completing a professional certificate on Coursera. The UT Coursera program offers Longhorns free access to dozens of online courses and certificates for in-demand career paths. Whether you’re hoping to secure an internship or job offer or are simply interested in acquiring a new skill this year, Coursera has tons of opportunities for you to explore.
