Internal Transfer Document Support

Are you interested in moving to a new major and need help with your internal transfer application documents?

The career education professionals from Texas Career Engagement can provide personal statement and resume reviews to students applying to transfer majors. You can also sign up for a one-on-one appointment with a Career Counselor, who can offer guidance on exploring your strengths and interests, as well as identifying majors and careers that align with your goals.

Internal Transfer Drop-Ins

Drop by Texas Career Engagement to have your resume and personal statement reviewed by a Career Education team member. Drop-in appointments last about 15 minutes and are on a first come, first served basis.

Earned a Coursera Certificate? Now What?

Texas Career Engagement is hosting a workshop that will teach you how to communicate transferable skills like Coursera on your resume. You’ll also learn how to present Coursera and other skill badges on application materials, talk about your skills with recruiters, and continue to hone your skills through a variety of experiences. Join us on Monday, November 13 for this informational workshop — and free pizza!


Professional Attire: Advice on Looking Your Best

First impressions happen in seconds. How will a potential employer see you? Brush up your professional wardrobe with these tips from Texas Career Engagement. We’ll look at styles of clothing, hair, shoes accessories and more that will let you make the most polished impression and help you discover the subtle differences between business professional and business casual. Each small tweak to your appearance can enhance your professionalism at interviews, career fairs and internships.

Did you know that you can access appointments and other great resources for career development while on Winter Break?

Make an Appointment

Career coaching and counseling appointments are offered during much of Winter Break. Texas Career Engagement offers both virtual and in-person appointments, and availability is regularly updated in Handshake. Be sure to also check out your college or school’s career service center for additional resources and services.

Gain Experience

There are many ways to gain experience in a short amount of time. Consider completing a certificate program in Coursera, or participating in a job simulation over the break. Micro-internships are also a great way to try out new interests and hone skills.
